Minister's Corner

Youth Sunday

By August 28, 2019No Comments

We set aside this Sunday each year to celebrate the youth in our congregation. It is special for a variety of reasons. The service is lead by members of our Southside youth group. Our new 1st and 6th grade classes get their Bibles and are recognized in moving to the next stage of their educational career. Jana and I are so blessed by the children and teens at Southside and love to get the opportunity to share their successes, strengths, and milestones with our church body!

Here at Southside, our children’s ministry and youth ministry take a lot of work to manage. We have events, classes, and service projects, and that’s not even including the fact that we have an army of children that are growing in Christ running all around us. We are blessed beyond measure by our ability and opportunity to serve in these ministries, but we are only able to do so through the gift of presence of the members here at Southside. Each of you who have spent time in our children’s and youth ministries this year has made a distinct impact on not only our students but also our staff. Thank you for all that you do!

A partial list of where we have seen adults work with our students this year are: teaching classes, cleaning our children’s classrooms, hosting events in their homes, hosting events at Southside, volunteering for KidsHOPE in a variety of ways, the nursery, the school store, Academy 4, and Children’s Worship. This is only a fraction of what the servants here do for our children, and the list would not fit on this page if we went through it all!

For those already signed up for this new school year, we thank you for the commitment you have made to be a part of the lives of the future body of Christ. If you are interested in joining our team and creating the best environment for spiritual growth for our children and teens please contact either Jana or myself and we will find a way to use your unique spiritual gifts to bless these kids.
