Matthew 25:37-40 "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
Leviticus 25:35 If one of your countrymen becomes poor and is unable to support himself among you, help him as you would an alien or a temporary resident, so he can continue to live among you.
Our Food Pantry is a ministry that has been serving our neighborhood since 1983. We are presently serving about 400 families a month who live in zip codes 76104, 76109, and 76110. Those that come to our food pantry are also able to go the clothing room. This ministry provides a hand-up for those that need just a little help to be able to make ends meet.
Our pantry and clothing room are open to our neighbors on Tuesdays from 10:00 am. to 12:00 pm. We open our door at 9:15 to invite those that choose to participate to join us in a morning devotional time before pantry begins. We ask that our neighbors bring a picture I.D., proof of residency (a current bill or rent receipt), and verification of income. We receive much of our food from the Tarrant Area Food Bank. The remainder of the food is received by donation. Our neighbors and members of South Central Alliance assist our members in the distribution of food. The South Central Alliance provides emergency assistance in the area also.
We are able to show mercy to around 100 families per week. Each family can come to the food pantry every 30 days. We are thankful for the opportunity to share what we have been blessed with and extend a hand of mercy to those that need a hand up. We use this as an opportunity to share the love of Christ and help lives be transformed by the Holy Spirit into the image of Christ.
