Frequently asked questions.
What is worship like?
We sing, pray, take communion, give, listen to God’s word, encourage each other, honor milestones, and more.
Am I required to give?
We give to support the ministries, missions, and day-to-day operations of our church. Partners in the Gospel are encouraged to give, but we expect nothing from our guests.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. You’ll see people in jeans, dresses, ties, and t-shirts. You will fit right in. The main thing we would love for you to bring is an open heart.
Which Bible class should I attend?
Bible classes take place right after worship. We have a variety of classes for all ages, generally grouped by age and stage in life. Bible classes are not just about learning God’s word; we encourage you to find a class in which you can find community. If you have a Bible, you can bring it, and if you don’t, we can provide you with one.
What do you believe, and what if I disagree?
We believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and the Savior of the world! You will find people have different convictions about many things, but we are all united in Christ and look to the Bible as God’s inspired Word. We encourage healthy dialogue, fellowship, and collaboration among all Partners in the Gospel.
How do I become a member?
You may hear us use the term “Partners in the Gospel.” The individuals of our church are called, assembled, and commissioned by God as revealed in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Instead of merely affiliating with a church, we invite you to unite with God and his community, participating in his transformative work within Southside. This is why we emphasize the term “partner” rather than “member.” “Membership” implies static affiliation, while our emphasis is on the dynamic call to follow Jesus and actively align our lives with his mission.
Can I be baptized?
Certainly! We encourage you to have a conversation with one of our ministers to discuss details.
