We want to turn a spotlight on one of our lesser-known and publicized missions of the Southside church.
There is a thriving ministry to whom we affectionately call the “Outdoorsmen”— men and women who survive on the mean streets of our town. The Star Telegram says that on any day in Fort Worth we have over 2000 on our streets experiencing Homelessness.
For the last 4 years we have served over 100 “outdoorsmen” each month who attend our outside Sunday afternoon worship, our Wednesday night Bible class, or our Friday "OPEN DOOR" activities that provide spiritual food, board games, life skill classes AND delicious meals for any and all. In our recent renovations, a ministry area and classroom was created on the south side of our building to house this outreach. We encourage you to go take a look at this newly renovated ministry space.
Over 100 Southside partners are presently involved in this outreach in various ways— many by preparing and/or serving meals. The Thell White Family, Bakutis Family, Sattiewhites, Monteros, Jeters, Dakota Endsley, Cindy Griffith, Keisha Williams — and many other servant-hearted people have played pivotal roles in this unheralded mission to our City.
Pictured are Joe and Francis who live on the streets who were baptized by ministry leaders Michael and Teesa Craft this past Sunday!
Be watching for details of another big Holiday Event and Dinner now being planned of which you will want to be a part.
