Wow! What a year – full of ups and downs! We are just on the horizon of new beginnings after our wilderness.

As Children’s Minister, one of my greatest excitements is entering into our newly renovated space on May 23rd! As I reflect back on the past year, I could go on and on about how I have seen God at work in making this day possible! I could list name after name of everyone who has donated time, money, blood, sweat, and tears into this call for God’s future.

Here are just a few moments that are particularly precious to me and I hope they will be an encouragement to you as well.

Remember back to April 2020 – we were in full lock down but had been given the go ahead to begin renovation of the upstairs. Upstairs was FULL of stuff that had to be moved in order for work to begin. So, I called upon my “Covid Pod” to help me out! Daniel, Brynley, Colin, Alex, Heather, Teagan, and Conlan worked with me on a rainy April day to move everything downstairs! It was quite a day and one that I am sure I will never forget!

Then, I think back to last fall. In September and October it was time for us to think about how we were going to accomplish furnishing all this new space for our children. Teresa led the charge in helping us send out the request to fulfill the needs, which were many. I will never forget the day that Teresa sent me the message that ALL of our classrooms were now furnished and that the Peace Class had taken care of MOST of the rooms on their own! I am still just overcome with how generous this group is and could never thank them enough for the example they set for us all!

We now move to into May 1, 2021 – the day we got our temporary occupancy. We have just 3 weeks until our Grand Opening and must move in the furniture, supplies, decorations, and technology in order to be ready! Let me just say, this takes a village! I see Barry Riley and Thomas Kile hanging TVs, Ben Anthony hanging clocks, John Scott taking out all our trash as we unload boxes, Ron Finch putting together printers, Tammy Wolford organizing our work room supplies, The Waltons hanging our new signs, The Eaton’s constructing boards to display student work, and the list could go on and on and on! There truly isn’t enough room on this page to list everyone who has contributed in a major way.

I remember Teresa and Joe saying at the very beginning of this campaign that we didn’t have a super donor – we had a LOT of donors – we had a church full of wonderful people coming together for the Lord’s work!

I want to say a thank you to all of you! You have all been instrumental in this effort and please know you are loved and appreciated! Let’s not take any of these blessings fore granted and truly REJOICE in these gifts God has given us!
