A note from the Elders:
At this time, masks continue to be optional during the times we are together as a body. We recognize that the issue of vaccination has become controversial and it is not the place of church leadership to make that decision for anyone; however, we also recognize that the data unquestionably shows that those who have chosen not to receive the vaccine are significantly more likely to transmit the virus to others. As we all seek to model Christ by placing the interests of others above our own and bearing with one another in love, we encourage everyone to consider how they can best protect themselves and their families while also minimizing the risk that they pose to others, whether that be getting vaccinated or wearing a mask or both. It is the place of church leadership to protect the flock, so we will continue to monitor CDC guidelines and other trusted sources of information and will let you know if we feel we need to make any changes in order to fulfill our responsibilities. We pray that will not be necessary and ask for your help in ensuring that coming together as a body continues to be as safe as possible for everyone.

At Southside, we want to be a place of mission, mercy, and transformation. We are committed to loving God and loving our neighbors, just as Christ commanded. We realize this is a difficult time to navigate these things, so below are some common questions and concerns, with responses as to where we are right now regarding this:

Yes, certainly. We encourage you to continue joining us online each Sunday until you feel comfortable attending in person. Our worship service will continue to be streamed every Sunday via Facebook Live at

Yes. Following our communion & giving on Sundays, kids are dismissed to Children's Worship. Additionally, beginning on Sunday, June 6, Southside Kids Bible classes will be offered (in our newly-renovated children's wing!) following the 9:30 worship service. Children and Southside Kids volunteers are highly encouraged to wear masks during class and other Southside Kids activities.

What is Southside doing during this time to serve the community?
Our Food Pantry ministry continues to operate on Tuesdays from 10am-Noon, blessing the community by providing groceries to families and individuals in need. Our Outdoorsmen Ministry is serving people who are experiencing homelessness in various ways throughout the week. The Arms of Hope Family Outreach Center is located in the Southside building, for the purposes of supporting families in need and helping connect people to resources. Clothing can be donated via the blue Arms of Hope donation bin in the east parking lot.
