Scripture establishes the office of deacon, not as a position of leadership, but as a position of service. That is why we as deacons at Southside strive to be servants. We serve to coordinate the ministries that this body of Christians is involved in. Through service, we seek to emulate Christ, to bring glory to His name, and to strengthen His kingdom. We also feel strongly that these areas of service should not fall on the shoulders of our elders, that they may devote themselves to shepherding the flock. If you, like us, have a desire to serve, we have place for you.
