Handbook of Good Works

Ministry Organization
"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it." I Cor. 12:27

Under the oversight of the elders, Southside is organized to fulfill many areas of service. This ministry-led approach is designed to meet a variety of needs both inside and outside the congregation. A conscious effort has been made to balance the needs of the church for edification and enrichment with the responsibility to reach out to the world through evangelism and service. This is our way of mobilizing the vast resources of this church to meet the challenges we face in living out our calling as members of Christ's body. Our purpose is to provide a form and structure for the parts of the body to unite and do their work.

The various areas of service represented here by no means exhaust our possibilities for service, nor should they be used as substitutes for individual initiative in responding to people in need. They do offer opportunities for involvement in meaningful areas of ministry which have as their goal the building up of the body of Christ through nurture and outreach. We offer them as catalysts to stimulate our minds and hearts to find other creative ways to serve our Lord.
