Local Missions

Welcome to our local missions page. My name is Dan Leaf, and I am the local missions minister, and my wife, Kathy, is my co-worker. The first question in your mind may be, "What is local missions?" Local missions is not a title or a program. It is just a description and explanation of what we believe we were called to do. We are called to go into all the world and preach the "good news." Part of all the world is our own neighborhood. The Southside Church of Christ has recognized and targeted our immediate area as a mission field. There are people who need to know and have a relationship with a God who loves them, accepts them, and wants to heal their brokenness. Before people will care about what you know, they want to know that you care.

Local missions is not the work of one individual. It encompasses many areas of outreach and depends on the leadership, vision and cooperation of many members. It is a team effort. We believe that local missions is a call from God. He has empowered us to see what we can do and join Him in what He is already doing in our neighborhood.
